Ultrasound

An ultrasound scan is a special moment: a chance to catch a glimpse of the miracle growing inside you. At Belle Vie, we carry out various ultrasound scans to monitor your baby’s health, but also to give you the chance to get to know your little one.

"Looking forward to a new beginning together; a special and important moment."

The medical ultrasound scan

Care and attention

During your pregnancy, we will schedule medical ultrasound scans at various stages. Each scan has its own purpose: from determining your due date (gestational scan) to monitoring the baby’s growth and position later in the pregnancy.

Although it is wonderful to see your baby, medical screening is our top priority. We monitor their development and health closely. Should there be any reason for further investigation, we will discuss this with you straight away. All medical scans that we request are fully covered by your health insurer.

Medical Ultrasound

For a medical ultrasound scan, we ask that you come with your partner only. This ensures the peace and quiet the sonographer needs to concentrate. Taking photos or videos is not permitted during the scan, but you will, of course, be given a lovely print to take home!

The Pretecho

Would you like to have a thorough look, find out the baby’s sex or bring family members along (up to 4 people)? Then book an appointment for a fun ultrasound scan. The focus is on having fun, and we’ll create beautiful 2D or 3/4D images of your little one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to your questions about ultrasound scans

No, filming is not permitted during medical ultrasound scans. The sonographer needs to be able to concentrate fully on examining the baby. Of course, we’ll print out some lovely photos for you to take home.

We ask that you do not bring young children with you to medical ultrasound scans. A crowded room can affect the quality of the scan. However, children and other family members (up to 4 additional people) are, of course, very welcome to a fun ultrasound scan!

A good ultrasound scan is a very positive sign, but unfortunately it does not provide a complete guarantee of a healthy baby. Sadly, some abnormalities are not visible on an ultrasound scan. However, we always do our very best to assess the baby’s health as accurately as possible.
