Maternity period

Congratulations your baby is born. The maternity period is an important time for the bond between child and parents. A time of getting used to each other and learning to take care of each other. All in all, it is often an emotional and impressive time. This is not only because the delivery was often tiring and the baby often keeps you awake as new parents, but also because the hormones are still going through the mother's body. It is important to trust your gut feeling and to take the time to do this during these days.

Maternity period

The maternity nurse will help you with the care and nutrition of your baby at home. She will check on you daily on physical basis.
The midwife, in the end, is  responsible for the medical check-ups and will therefore visit you regularly during the first week.
We would like to know how you and your child are doing physically and emotionally.
There will be an opportunity to discuss the delivery or to ask any other possible questions.
After eight to fourteen days after the delivery, we close the maternity period and we will no longer make standard home visits.
But remember; we are available 24 hours a day. If you do have any questions or concerns, you may always call us. We would like to see you once again at our practice six weeks afer the delivery for a follow-up check.
